I operate as a licensed group home providing daytime care for up to twelve children, five and under.  I also am a licensed, certified music teacher holding a bachelor's degree in Music Education.  I give the children in my care opportunities to learn fine motor, large motor, language, social skills, Kindergarten readiness curriculum, and self-help skills in a family-like setting with mixed age groups. I also provide professional experiences with music, drama, and art.  Your child will receive quality personal and individualized care in a warm and loving home.

Meals:  Nutritious meals and snacks will be served following the requirements of the Department of Human Services State Guidelines for Day Care Providers.  All our meals and snacks follow the USDA School Food Program Requirements, and we are sponsored and monitored by Our Daily Bread of Tennessee.  We provide whole milk for children under two and 1% or Skim milk for children two and older at meal times and snacks and occasionally 100% fruit juice for snack time.  We serve hot breakfasts and lunches and an afternoon snack.

Activities:  Typical activities for the children include playing outdoors, age-appropriate learning curriculum, art, crafts, puzzles, fingerplays, story time, cooking, sand and water play, free-play time, quiet time, singing, experimenting with musical instruments, moving to music, dramatic play, and limited, educational television watching. You will receive a daily note about your child's activities, behavior, etc.  I post a weekly menu on this website that includes the theme of the month and other specific learning activities so that you can incorporate them into your child's life at home.  I encourage you to notice this and discuss each activity with your child.  You will receive a free monthly newsletter which is included with our curriculum.  It explains in further detail what we are exploring and includes at-home activity suggestions that correspond with the themes we are studying.  This will really emphasize and reinforce the theme and help your child retain what he has learned that week.  A daily activity schedule is also posted that states the approximate time of day we conduct each activity.

Other:  We are a Christian family and are members of Calvary Baptist Church in Murfreesboro but are active members of THE WELL, a mission-minded church in Murfreesboro.  I will be teaching the children Christian values and morals and will read a variety of stories, including Bible stories.  We will also learn many songs including Christian songs and hymns.  If this is agreeable to you, then Annie's Playhouse could be the place for your child.
